It's time to get into a new CR-V!

There comes that perfect time of year where the summer is turning into the fall and soon after the fall it turns into the winter. What comes with winter? Lots and lots of snow! Especially, here in Boise, Idaho. Here at Larry H. Miller Honda Boise, we would like to prepare you for the snow, as it gets closer to coming down each passing day. August 2014 brought us an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and a used car tent sale

Wow, August was a busy month for Larry H. Miller Honda Boise. First off, we had been planning all month for a used car tent sale called the LHM 1000. What we also had come up was the ALS Ice Bucket challenge that came to our store. The senior Vice President for the Larry H. Miller Automotive Group, John O’Brian, challenged our General Manager to do the challenge. Below, you can see how this challenge turned out and how our GM, Chad Bravender, took the challenge.

On to the topic of the LHM 1000! This is a giant used vehicle sale that we love to do a couple times of year. The pre-owned vehicle sale can range from being done over the Memorial Day weekend at Expo Idaho in Boise, or in June. And this month we decided to do it over the Labor Day weekend. Why not, right?

You won’t find a better deal on a used vehicle than at this sale. We always put a lot of inventory on the ground at Expo Idaho in Boise for the LHM 1000, because we want people to come down and to see a wide selection of vehicles that they can choose from. We also have onsite lending, where customers can get approved for the vehicle that they’re looking for on the spot. The last great part about the LHM 1000, is that we stock the place full of food and goodies while customers are here.

We'd like to congratulate Chad Bravender, General Manager of Larry Miller Honda for being named Autobytel's Dealer of the Month for May 2014.

We recently spoke with Chad about the importance of response times, process, and accountability, and how these factors have been a critical part in driving his store's success as the number one Honda dealer in Idaho.

 Tell us about yourself and your store. What is your official title, what brands do you sell and what are your primary markets?

My name is Chad Bravender and I'm the General Manager of Larry Miller Honda in Boise, Idaho. We sell new and pre-owned Hondas and we're the number one Honda store in Idaho. We serve customers in southern Idaho, a bit of Twin Falls, Boise, and the suburbs of Boise. I have been with the Larry Miller Group for 15 years. We have 54 stores and operate out of 6 western states.

How long have you been an Autobytel dealer and what do you think are the primary benefits of being on the Autobytel program?

Larry Miller Honda has been with the Autobytel program for quite a while now. The leads are good. We know they come from a good source, and we like that Autobytel captures all of the important information - address, phone number, email - which is nice.

What do you think makes you so successful at meeting the needs of today's Internet consumers? Please share a few of your best practices in terms of managing Internet leads.

For us, it's all about process and accountability, and response times are critical. Having the right people to do it is also important! My Internet Manager has been here for a year as well, and we have 6 - 7 reps who also handle leads. We make sure our staff services our customers properly, and we closely monitor how every lead is handled.

What are your thoughts about being named an Autobytel Dealer of the Month?

It's an honor to be named the Autobytel Dealer of the Month. We track performance to make sure our customers are taken care of, and we make sure we have as high a close rate as possible, so it's nice to be noticed for the great work we're doing.

What are some tips or advice you would give other retailers when it comes to effectively managing Internet customers?

Response time is really important. Also, pay attention to the details of the leads, monitor the leads, watch what comes in, and make sure customer questions are answered properly and that they're getting all the right info.

What are your general thoughts about the auto industry right now? How are sales? Any interesting things happening at Larry Miller Honda or with the brand that you'd like to share?

It's a great time to be in the auto industry. Sales are great and we continue to beat sales over the previous year. We are currently building a new store here, so we'll be able to serve more consumers and accommodate more inventory. It opens mid-late next year. Honda is also coming out with new models, which is exciting. Hondas are always reliable, they have a great product, and it's good to be involved with selling this brand.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself...what do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies or interests of note?

I like to do anything to stay active. I play a lot of softball, and pretty much anything that takes me outside. I am originally from Boise.

Summer car care tips

Summer is filled with road trips and enjoying the beautiful weather. Sometimes, it’s easy to forget a few routine items during your summer because you’re out enjoying the fourth of July holiday or something else that might be occupying your time. With that being the case for some of us, we thought it would be best to pass along to you some summer car care tips that you might be able to use. 2014 Larry H. Miller Day of Service

On Friday, April 25th we attended the annual Larry H. Miller Day of Service. This was the 5th annual event and we at Larry H. Miller Honda Boise lended our service and volunteered to help the Boys and Girls Club set up as much as we could for their annual charity event. It was Larry's wish that we do all that we can to enrich our communities around us. And on this day, we hope to have moved one more step closer to doing so. Car Care tips for Spring from Larry H. Miller Honda Boise

Guess what?! April is car care month and we want to make sure that your car is in the best position for Spring.

At Larry H. Miller Honda of Boise, we decided to put together these car care tips for you to notice as Spring approaches. The best time to get your vehicle checked is to have us conduct a multi-point inspection for your vehicle in our service department. Here are some other items to notice and check in case you can make it in: 

• Schedule a Spring tune-up: This will always help with your car's performance. 
• All fluids: Your engine oil, power steering fluids, brake, transmission as well as windshield washer fluid, and the antifreeze coolant.
• Battery Life: along with making sure there is no acid build-up on the car battery. Also, look at the cables connected to them to make sure they're in good help.
• Air Conditioner: The summer is coming fast, make sure you're prepared with a well working AC.
• Tires: This includes tire pressure and the tread tread. Keep in mind that uneven wear on the tires in an indication that you need an alignment. Tires should also be checked for bulges and bald spots.
• Hoses and belts to make sure they are not cracked, brittle, frayed, loose or showing signs of excessive wear.
• Wipers: You'll want to make sure your wipers cleanly wipe away water for the most optimal viewing out of your car's window.
• External Lighting: Break lights and head lights.
• Brakes: Normally, you should have these checked at your oil changes, but when breaking while driving, check to see if everything feels right as well.
